Role summary
This role is for a Business Administration Manager within the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive business support, including line managing the administration team, ensuring business continuity, and maintaining policies and procedures. They will monitor performance using data, produce reports, and support service improvements, projects, and budget management. Key responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive business support service to the NIHR Clinical Research Facility.
- Lead and line manage the administration team, coordinating recruitment, induction, staff development, and leave.
- Maintain accurate data across multiple systems, produce performance reports, and use KPIs to identify trends.
- Ensure policies and standard operating procedures are followed and kept up to date, focusing on data quality and information governance.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to senior management.
Essential criteria
- Degree or an equivalent level of training and experience
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to manage personal diaries/ co-ordinate meetings across multiple teams
- Experience of databases, dashboards and data sets
- Ability to form reports templates based on data, supporting service leads to prepare the reports for formal presentation
- Experience of using data to analyse performance and recommend actions to improve the service
- Experience of leading and delivering small scale projects
- Experience of using analytical tools to track change over time and highlight variation
- Experience in an administrative function
- Experience of using own initiative to assess priorities and resolve complaints
Desirable criteria
- Health or social care experience
- Experience in communicating with key stakeholders to inform and adapt how services are delivered
- Experience of applying external policies and legislation into local practice
- A good working knowledge of NHS England national data collections (sit rep)
- Experience of training others
- Experience of supporting others to manage diaries and plan ahead for service provision
