Role summary

Key responsibilities

Essential criteria

  • Degree in health planning, estates, project management, analytics, or related field
  • Experience of working in the Construction or Healthcare Building services industry including site supervision of contractors
  • Thorough knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and statutory policies & procedures relevant to managing relevant to the management of public buildings, construction & building maintenance
  • Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clinical teams, corporate teams and external stakeholders.
  • Works well independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Flexible and responsive to changing priorities, conflicting deadlines and operational pressures.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrates the Trust's values and behaviours.
  • Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in health planning, estates, project management, analytics, service planning or a related field.
  • Able to analyse and interpret information, data and service requirements accurately.
  • Able to produce clear written reports, briefing notes, schedules, presentations and planning documentation.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to organise workload, manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in NHS
  • IOSH or similar H&S training
  • Understanding of healthcare planning, service change, estates planning or capital development processes.
  • Awareness of NHS planning requirements, including the need to align space, activity, workforce, finance and operational requirements.
  • Understanding of governance, risk, quality and safe working practices relevant to healthcare planning and estates project

Job summary
