Role summary
An opportunity has arisen within Mental Health Services for a Medical Secretary to join our current team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative and patient co-ordination services for Consultant Psychiatrists and associated medical staff. You will need significant secretarial experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in office software and patient information systems. The role requires excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. This part-time post is based in Lochgilphead.

An opportunity has arisen within Mental Health Services for a Medical Secretary to join our current team.
The successful candidate would also be expected to provide cover for other secretaries at times of annual/sick leave.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of Medical Secretaries who provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative and patient co-ordination services for Consultant Psychiatrists and associated medical staff who provide outreach clinics throughout Argyll and Bute.
You will have significant secretarial experience with a high level of office practice skills, have knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient in the use of office software and patient information systems (such as Microsoft Office, e-mail, Hospital Intranet, TrakCare PMS, SciStore etc.), with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
Knowledge of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 would be an advantage.
