Role summary
This role is for a dynamic and resilient Contracts Manager to join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will support the leadership and development of a team, taking responsibility for the procurement and management of contracts for products or services. They will provide procurement expertise to colleagues to help achieve savings targets and assist with day-to-day operational challenges within procurement-led contracts. Essential criteria
- Good level of education, numerate, literate with good analytical skills (E)
- Knowledge of professional purchasing principles acquired through degree or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), or equivalent training and or demonstrable work-based knowledge & experience (E)
- Practical knowledge of public sector tendering process and contract management (E)

- Formal project management experience (D)
- Knowledge and understanding of contract law (D)
- Full membership of CIPS (MCIPS) (D)
- Knowledge of NHS Terms & Conditions of Contract and public accountability (D)
- Broad knowledge of healthcare products/procedures (D)

- Significant experience of negotiation with suppliers and customers (E)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) (E)
