Role summary

This role is for an experienced, SCPHN-qualified practitioner to join Bromley Healthcare's Children's Safeguarding Team as a Children's Safeguarding Advisor. You will provide expert safeguarding advice, supervision, training, and professional leadership to staff, promoting high-quality, child-centred practice. The position involves working across multi-agency settings to support local and national safeguarding priorities and legislation. Key responsibilities

  • Providing safeguarding advice and support to Bromley Healthcare staff.
  • Delivering safeguarding supervision in line with organisational policy.
  • Designing and delivering safeguarding training.
  • Supporting information sharing through the MASH/Children and Families Hub.
  • Contributing to MARAC processes.
  • Promoting safeguarding learning, best practice and continuous improvement.

Essential criteria

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice (including Working Together and Intercollegiate Framework, Childrens Act, Domestic Abuse Act)
  • Understanding of Thresholds , assessing risk and need for children and ability to support staff making decisions
  • Able to challenge decisions and articulate rationale effectively
  • Strong leadership, teaching, and facilitation skills
  • Registered Nurse Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Educated to Degree Level/ equivalent
  • Evidence of Professional development
  • Evidence of teaching and Training others
  • Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and from multiple sources
  • Demonstrates capability to act upon incomplete information , using decision making skills
  • Ability to produce concise yet robust communications for dissemination to partners from a broad range of agencies , disciplines and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of being the Health representative at Multiagency meetings such as MARAC/ MCC/MASH
  • Sound knowledge and experience of electronic record keeping systems
  • Able to use Excel
  • Able to use data bases/ word
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
