Role summary

This is a fixed-term Medical Technical Officer 2 position within Laboratory Research Services (LRS) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves supporting cutting-edge research by processing and handling research specimens, managing laboratory data, and assisting with study set-up and administration. You will ensure efficient and high-standard laboratory support for approximately 250 research studies annually. Key responsibilities

  • Receive, process, store, and distribute research samples.
  • Enter and manage laboratory data and completed results.
  • Support the set-up and administration of research studies.
  • Assist with invoicing and other administrative activities.
  • Arrange shipment and tracking of samples sent to external laboratories.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with laboratory procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.
