Role summary
This role involves leading the development and implementation of innovative business intelligence systems and reports for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. You will be responsible for automating processes, ensuring data accuracy, and leading the ongoing development of the BI hub. The position requires providing expertise in BI visualization and training the wider information team on technical solutions and data visualization tools. You will also work closely with end-users to define intelligence requirements and ensure data security.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and build innovative systems and reports to support changing and emerging business requirements for information provision and reporting.
- Lead the development and implementation of improvements in automation of existing processes, validation and reports.
- Production of routine internal and external reports in an accurate, timely and complete way.
- Lead on the ongoing development and use of the BI hub.
- Lead, train and assist the wider information team to develop technical solutions for reporting requirements, including automation of reports and processes, and the use of data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and SSRS.
- Ensure access to BI developed reports is consistent with the needs and role of the user, in particular reports that contain PID, and ensure appropriate security controls are in place.
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level within an Information/IT discipline or equivalent experience in an analytical subject.
- MSPowerBI certified or working towards, and experience developing Apps.
- SSRS training and experience developing apps.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Significant experience in an analytical / technical role.
- Significant experience working in an NHS Acute/Community Trust information setting.
- Experience of using data and information to influence and drive forward policies and procedures. e.g. Power Query, , SQL, SSRS and PowerBI.
- Experience building complex datasets within SQL Server, using advance techniques including temporary tables, procedures and creating functions.
- Experience of manipulating, analysing and modelling data and information, so that it may be used to evidence decision making and strategic planning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff both verbally and in writing.
- Able to motivate and inspire staff so they consistently perform to high standards.
- Able to prioritize own workload and manage internal/external stakeholder's expectations

Job summary
The Performance & Business Intelligence Department supports the Clinical Divisions within the Trust as well as supporting the SLA function by preparing monitoring reports and planning data. The department also plays a major role in identifying areas where the Trust needs to review practices by identifying areas where the Trust is performing below benchmark performance.
It is at the forefront of service development, understanding future needs and identifying in advance areas of potential growth - looking at demand and capacity analysis and taking into account the wider NHS agenda.
