Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Support Worker in the Children's Emergency Department at Staffordshire Children's Hospital. The role involves assisting and supporting Registered Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, holistic, person-centred care. You will work independently within your sphere of nursing under supervision, undertaking delegated tasks for which you are trained and assessed as competent. The position requires effective communication and a commitment to patient, staff, and service user well-being.
Essential criteria
- 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent
- Educated to GSCE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications)
- Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body)

Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.
Important information for applicants: To ensure clarity of accountability, scope of practice and professional responsibilities, the Trust does not normally appoint individuals holding active NMC or HCPC registration into Band 2 Clinical/AHP Support Worker, Band 3 Senior Clinical/AHP Support Worker or Band 4 AHP Support Worker/Technician roles.
