Role summary
This role is for an experienced HR professional to join the team as an HR Business Partner, supporting the delivery of strategic and operational people management services. The post holder will work with Trust directorates, advising senior managers on HR matters including employee relations and organisational change. It involves line management of HR Advisors and requires excellent communication and negotiation skills. The role offers hybrid and flexible working options.
Key responsibilities
- Work in partnership with Service Directors and Senior Managers to provide professional customer-focused HR advice and solutions.
- Identify and manage workforce issues and major change programmes.
- Support the development, integration and implementation of corporate HR policy and practice.
- Establish HR strategies and plans to support successful delivery of customer-focused HR services and achievement of business targets.
- Procure and analyse workforce metrics and trends to enhance workforce productivity and develop plans to meet performance targets.
- Provide HR advice in connection with business tenders, workforce aspects of service transfer, or new service implementation.
Essential criteria
- Educated to master's level or equivalent experience.
- CIPD Qualified to Level 7 of equivalent experience.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Experience of building effective partnership working with employee representatives and trade unions.
- Thorough understanding and application of Employment Law and Equality legislation.
- Experience of formulation and implementation of employment policies and processes.
- Experience of advising Senior Managers and Line Managers on complex change processes including restructuring, redundancy and TUPE transfers.
- Experience in applying a business partner approach - working with Directorate Leadership team and Senior Managers to develop services and applying HR expertise to provide solutions to complex problems.
- Sound understanding of HR best practice and employment law.
- Ability to assimilate, analyse, interpret and present complex data and information clearly and concisely using a range of IT tools and software.
- Ability to develop, review and interpret policies and procedures.
- Ability to interpret legislation, national terms and conditions of employment and other guidance and provide pragmatic risk appropriate solutions.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Presentation and Facilitation Skills.
- Ability to constructively challenge - fairly and sensitively.
- Ability to work under pressure, be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines ensuring competing demands are met.
- Manages own workload and supports management of HR Advisors workload, prioritises effectively and works to and consistently achieves deadlines / targets.
- Recognise people's right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect.
- Willingness to embrace integrated model and new ways of working.
- Willingness to be flexible in approach and attitude.
- Team player and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to travel independently around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area meeting required timescales. A Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join our Team, in the role of HR Business Partner. The role will be working to support the delivery of a high quality strategic and operational people management service.
The post holder will work with the Trusts directorates, in an HR Business Partnering model, working with managers and senior leaders across the Trust to support them in achieving the Trusts strategic ambitions. Also providing practical advice on all aspects of HR work, including employee relations issues, organisational change, TUPE etc.
The post holder will also have line management responsibility for a Human Resources Advisor(s).
The role is varied, and no two days are the same, representing the HR Operational Team at regular business and performance meetings including the interpretation of data and trends as required.
