Role summary
This role ensures the smooth and effective running of Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) case conferences, coordinating patient discussions and referrals. The post holder provides confidential administrative support to the Proactive team & Community Matron Team, maintaining patient databases and ensuring accurate information recording. They will liaise with MDT members and GPs, facilitate service improvement initiatives, and coordinate cross-site MDT meetings to support clinical decisions.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including English and Mathematics or any relevant degree.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent IT skills.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to the role.
- Willingness to undertake futher training and development as required.
- Skills and ablilities
- Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Ability to negotiate with other team players to ensure effective journey for patients through the organisation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Excellent keyboard skills. Minute/note taking. Shorthand. Medical terminology.
- Ability to establish and maintain a patient tracking database.
- Experience working In a GP practice
- Experience of working in an office or administrative Environment.
- Able to communicate clearly both verbal and written communications.
- Ability to process information and produce meaningful reports as required.
- Car driver for business use using own vechicle along with current UK driving licence
- Experience in the healthcare environment.

Job summary
The MDT Co-ordinator role aims to ensure the smooth running of the MDT case conferences by ensuring the MDT meetings run effectively and are well structured. All patients are treated and discussed according to evidence-based protocols. While providing an efficient and confidential administrative service to the Proactive team & Community Matron Team. By liaising and networking with MDT members and Enfield GPs, the post holder will promptly ensure that patients are referred to the Enfield MDT, enabling the patient to be discussed and referred to the appropriate team. The post holder is responsible for capturing all patient information, ensuring that up-to-date, relevant information is recorded on the database, and providing feedback to the referring services. The post holder will coordinate cross-site MDT meetings, ensuring the effective running and structure, ensuring all necessary information is available to enable clinical decisions, and ensuring that decisions are documented according to local protocols. He/she will assist service managers in facilitating service improvement initiatives to improve the experience and outcome of patient care.
