Job summary

We are looking for 4 Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians to join the Pharmacy services within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust. This will be based at Central/Summerhill Pharmacy based in Erdington with a rotation to our Pharmacy at HMP Birmingham, Winson Green and Reaside Clinic in Rubery. This post is a full time fixed term contract for 2 years.
The salary for this training post is band 3. You will receive 27 days annual leave per year plus Bank Holidays, and normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week with one late night per week (subject to change).
The training is based at Central/Summerhill Pharmacies in Erdington, Reaside Clinic in Rubery and HMP Birmingham, with attendance at either Birmingham Metropolitan College/Walsall college one day per week and will be commencing in September 2026 to complete the BTEC level 3 diploma in the principles and practice for pharmacy technicians' qualification.
The successful candidate will work within mental health, prison and secure care services whilst in training, completing a wide range of experiences including dispensing of prescriptions, stores, procurement and medicines optimisation.
