Role summary
This role supports the Cardiac Catheter Lab Service, assisting in the provision of an efficient radiology service and driving service improvement. Responsibilities include undertaking audits, coordinating patient pathways, and deputising for the Superintendent Radiographer. The post holder will also support the 24/7 PPCI service, including bank/public holidays. It involves maintaining high clinical expertise, supervising staff, and ensuring quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the Cardiac Catheter Lab Service.
- Assist in the provision of an efficient radiology service and be responsible for service delivery and service improvement.
- Undertake regular audit of own practice and of other Radiographers.
- Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer.
- Support 24/7 PPCI service, including bank/public holidays as required.
- Supervise, advise and mentor staff.
Essential criteria
- BSc Diagnostic Radiographer (or equivalent)
- HCPC registered
- PPCI experience
Desirable criteria
- Immediate Life Support
- Higher Professional qualification/Masters level
- Ability to carry out radiographic procedures to a high standard
- Considerable Band 5 Radiographer experience with a sound clinical knowledge of radiography and/or fluoroscopy and/or cross section
- Sound knowledge of ionising radiation legislation
- PPCI service experience
- Experience of stock control
- Specific expertise in relevant cardiac cathlab modalities
- BSc Diagnostic Radiographer (or equivalent)
