Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Furness Home Based Treatment Team in Barrow. Essential criteria
- oDiploma/BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (OT)
- oHealth and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
- oPost Graduate training relevant to mental health work in appropriate speciality
- Detailed knowledge of how mental health problems impact on occupational performance and how occupational therapy theory informs practice within community mental health settings
- Knowledge of current best practice in community mental health and awareness of relevant government directives and legislation
- Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using expert level clinical reasoning
- Ability to demonstrate a significant level of experience within a Occupational Therapy a mental health setting
- Familiarity with audit processes
- Extensive clinical experiences including individual and group work in mental health specialties

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Furness Home Based Treatment Team based in Barrow. The post will be supported under the supervision of a network Occupational Therapy Clinical Specialist. The fully aligned role will involve clinical Occupational Therapy provision working within a multidisciplinary team within the adult acute setting for service users experiencing mental health difficulties requiring home-based treatment.
The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to service users to support recovery within home treatment. The successful candidate will also undertake supervision of junior staff and assist in local developments related to the Occupational Therapy services locally and across the footprint of Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. This role requires the successful applicant to be based on-site on a full-time basis. In addition, as the role involves regular home visits across the community, the post holder will be required to travel frequently and must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
The successful candidate will be supported within Occupational Therapy Best Practice Forums and shadowing opportunities will be provided via Occupational Therapists working within other home-based treatme
