Role summary

As an Advanced Applications Support Analyst, you will ensure the effective operation of Royal Berkshire's digital applications to meet Trust objectives. This involves supporting all digital applications, performing complex system administration, and maintaining data integrity for configuration changes. You will ensure compliance with Change and Release management procedures, liaise with user departments and suppliers, and support application deployment activities, including working on system build and workflow projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support for all digital applications, troubleshooting complex system issues, and ensuring minimal disruption to clinical workflows.
  • Ensure the security, data integrity, and performance of clinical systems, monitoring back-office interventions and resolving security breaches.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for key stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution of critical issues and efficient communication.
  • Oversee adherence to Change and Release Management guidelines, ensuring system changes are coordinated, tested, and rolled out without disrupting services.
  • Conduct regular Data Quality audits of back-office work to ensure coding and configuration changes meet accuracy and compliance standards.
  • Manage system configurations and updates, working closely with technical teams, clinicians, and other Trust departments.

Essential criteria

  • Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend and appropriate course of action to address the issues
  • Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload without supervision working to tight and often changing timescales
  • Strong decision-making skills supported by data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Experience managing application configurations, system administration, and maintaining data integrity.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Oracle Millennium EPR and associated Back Office tools.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data management and NHS operational workflows.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Demonstrate qualification and expertise in application support

Desirable criteria

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
  • Broad understanding of NHS clinical and administrative processes.
  • Formal technical qualification, e.g. MCSE in Microsoft applications
  • Customer service qualification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent experience in IT Service Management.
