Role summary
The Southwark Team for Early Psychosis (STEP) is seeking a highly enthusiastic and dedicated full-time care coordinator (occupational therapist, nurse or social worker) to support people experiencing psychosis. The role involves managing a caseload of 20-25 service users, assessing new referrals, and working with families and the multi-disciplinary team to implement care packages. Care coordinators will help service users achieve their recovery goals and expand their therapeutic interventions through training opportunities. The team is part of a research-based Early Intervention Model, promoting social inclusion and recovery for up to three years.
Essential criteria
- Qualified RMN, OT or Social Worker with current aligned professional registration
- At least 1 year's post-registration experience of working in a mental health setting
- At least 1 year's experience of working with people experiencing psychosis
- Experience of independent case management
- Experience of using psycho-social interventions
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in an early intervention service
- Experience of care coordination
- Skills and Knowledge
- Skills in completing assessments of service user's mental health needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An interest in early intervention services
- An understanding of an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service care package
- An understanding of how environmental factors can contribute to mental health difficulties

About the location:
Our office and team base are at a community outpatient's clinic at St Giles House, 1 St Giles Road, Camberwell, SE5 7UD. The office is a short walk from Denmark Hill station.
