Role summary
This role involves enhancing the lives and wellbeing of older people experiencing dementia within an inpatient service. The Activity Coordinator will plan, organise, and deliver high-quality, meaningful recreational activities on an individual or group basis. Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and deliver high quality and meaningful recreational activities on either an individual or groupwork basis.
- Work independently with people living with dementia, using a person-centred, strength-based approach.
- Communicate easily and sensitively with older people and their carer/families.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a positive and creative environment for undertaking activities.
- Work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and volunteers offering guidance and support.
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working with individuals with dementia in a role that supports meaningful activity
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Positive desire to work with older people, particularly those with dementia

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the dementia inpatient service on Ward 2 the Mount. Ward 2 provides 24hr assessment and treatment for females living with dementia.
We are looking to recruit someone into our established Activity Coordinator Team who can work alongside our Occupational Therapy Service to provide person-centred care for people with dementia.
The jobholder will be actively involved in planning, organising and delivering high quality and meaningful recreational activities on either an individual or groupwork basis.
