Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to join Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services as an Operational and Clinical Team Manager. The role involves providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams within the mild-to-moderate children and young peoples mental health pathway. You will oversee operational management, clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to practitioners and supervisors, ensuring safe and effective care delivery. The successful candidate will support staff wellbeing and development, manage team performance, and work collaboratively with schools and partner agencies.
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of complex needs.
- Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level.
- Working within a community childrens service setting.
- Extensive experience of providing clinical supervision and managing staff.
Desirable criteria
- Budget management.
- Extensive experience of leading a clinical team.
- Setting up or working within a new service.
- A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (Psychological profession, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker etc.) A teaching qualification may also be considered alongside a health qualification- such as EMHP/CWP with significant post-qualifying experience.
- Active registration or appropriate accreditation with professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP Registered, UKCP - Registered, BABCP - Accredited).
- Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.
- Management qualification.
