Role summary
Join the Welcome Treatment Centre team as a Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist at King's Mill Hospital. This role involves supporting the specialist nursing team in planning, implementing, and administering expert nursing care for patients. You will provide specialised care, treatments, and support to patients and their carers across various specialties within the Trust, particularly in haematology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, and cancer care. The position requires collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic oncology care.

- Ability to work flexibly within working hours of ward/department
- Demonstrate professionalism and patient advocacy
- Knowledge Requirements
- Well developed communication skills and time management
- Effective organisational abilities
- SACT Passport completed
- First level degree, or equivalent knowledge, in related subject
- Significant relevant post registration experience in specialist area
- Evidence of teaching experience, either formally or in informal settings
- First Level Registered Nurse
- Chemotherapy administration (Min 6 months)
- Blood transfusion administration
Desirable criteria
- Teaching qualification
- Further Training
- Willingness to undertake further training as required by the speciality
- Supporting students
- Understanding and knowledge of specialist area
- Cannulation and venepuncture
- Post registration experience in a clinical setting
- Experience as shift co-ordinator
- Experience of working within surgical and medical day case, preferably with knowledge of haematology/oncology
