Role summary
The Orthotic Technician will fabricate a wide range of bespoke medical devices, known as orthoses, within the Orthotics department. Job summary
The Orthotics department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organised technically capable individual for the role of Orthotic Technician within our team. The Orthotic department has a clinical and workshop facility in the therapy department, and uses a variety of manufacturing techniques including CNC technology. The core function of the service is the integrated working practice between a skilled technician and our Orthotists in delivering compassionate excellence to our service users. The department is well respected in the Trust for its orthotic service delivery.
Main duties of the job
The role comprises of the fabrication of a wide range of bespoke medical devices 'orthoses'. Relevant experience within in a similar environment would be desirable however training both internal and external would be provided. The post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent hand skills with an attention to detail while working under pressure to meet the departments service demands. The post holder will be working as part of an established orthotic team and will be working in all areas of the manufacture process.
