Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated Primary Care Senior Staff Nurse to join the Health & Justice team at HMP Coldingley. The post holder will deliver expert healthcare services to patients within a secure environment, undertaking physical health assessments, running clinics, and providing a range of treatments. The role involves working as part of an integrated health service, ensuring high standards of primary care and promoting health and well-being for patients. A flexible approach to working, including weekends and unsocial hours, is required.
Essential criteria
- Registered Adult Nurse
- Evidence of personal and professional development following registration.
Desirable criteria
- Post registration qualification appropriate to speciality
- Mentorship or practice assessor certification
- Chronic disease management or long term condition qualification
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Paid/unpaid relevant to job
- Practical experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations
- Experience of providing and receiving supervision
- Experience of running clinics
- Experience of working within a secure environment / prison
- Experience of SystmOne patient information IT system

- Motivated to maintain the highest standards in a changing service
- Willingness to undertake further training relevant to clinical area
- Able to recognise signs of stress in self & others

- Knowledge of medication rounds and the safe storage and administration of drugs
- Knowledge of clinical audit process and an ability to use audit tools
- Ability to assess plans, implement and evaluate patient care & act accordingly if untoward changes occurred.
- Knowledge of risk assessment management and its implementation.
- Able to use computer software packages such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Demonstrates the ability to manage work under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality
- Understand the different roles of the multi-disciplinary team and own role within it
- Ability to demonstrate evidence-based practice & understanding of clinical governance in maintaining quality of care
- Ability to provide and accept feedback, support, clinical/managerial supervision
- Knowledge of current developments in specialist clinical area.
