Role summary
This is an opportunity for a Band 3 Cardiac Diagnostic Technician to join a busy Cardiac Diagnostics Department. The role involves performing routine and urgent 12-lead ECGs, fitting and removing ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors, and supporting cardiac diagnostic clinics. The successful candidate will work with diverse patients, using excellent communication skills, and will be supported with in-house training to develop knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms and work towards the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our busy Cardiac Diagnostics Department for a Band 3 Cardiac Diagnostic Technician.
We are looking for a caring, conscientious and motivated individual to join our team and support the delivery of a high-quality cardiac diagnostic service. The successful applicant will perform routine and urgent 12-lead ECGs, fit and remove ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors, and support cardiac diagnostic clinics across the Trust.
You will work with a diverse range of patients, using excellent communication skills to explain investigations, provide reassurance and maintain dignity and confidentiality at all times. You will also support senior cardiac physiology staff, assist with echocardiography clinics, maintain diagnostic equipment and contribute to the smooth running of the department.
Previous experience working with the public is essential, with healthcare or patient-facing experience desirable. The successful candidate will be supported through in-house training and will be expected to develop knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms and work towards the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.
