Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic Midwife to join the maternity unit or community midwifery teams at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will deliver safe, family-centred care, promoting positive outcomes for mothers and babies, and upholding NMC standards. They will work across acute maternity services and/or community, with opportunities for professional development and PMA support. The position involves planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised, evidence-based care plans.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and advise on the needs of women, birthing people, and families.
- Provide emotional support during all stages of pregnancy, labour, and postnatal care.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
- Identify and care for women with more complex pregnancies.
- Provide interventions and key messages around Public Health, including infant feeding.
- Recognise deterioration in a patient's physical or mental condition, taking appropriate action/escalation and managing emergencies.
