Role summary

This role supports the People Business Partner and Advisor team within the People and OD Directorate. Key responsibilities

  • Provide professional support and advice to Managers and staff across a range of employee relations matters and the application of Trust policies.
  • Support the delivery of 'a great place to be cared for; a great place to work' through effective engagement in a responsive, high quality and 'employee-centric' People function.
  • Ensure that all employee related issues are comprehensively and effectively addressed through proactive, employee centric and best practice advice and delivery.
  • Provide professional support and advice to managers and colleagues in the organisation across the range of employee relations matters.
  • Assist in the full range of People activities, including minute taking where appropriate.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ III Customer Service / Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • GCSE grade C or above in English Language (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of HR procedures (including Recruitment and Selection, Grievance and Discipline, absence management)
  • Relevant previous experience of electronic database systems

Desirable criteria

  • European Computer Driving Licence qualification or equivalent
  • Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP), or equivalent qualification or experience

Job summary

The People and OD Directorate (POD) is responsible for developing people strategies, policy, practice, and delivering P&OD services which support strategic objectives, improve staff engagement, comply with legislation, and support organisational culture development and the embedding of organisational values.

Our whole ethos is to provide a customer focused quality service to the trust business units and corporate departments through the provision of the following:

  • Expert people advice and guidance (strategic and operational) to business units and services across the trust.
  • Core employee relations and case management advice and support.
