Role summary
The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and professional Advanced Practitioner Ultrasound / Sonographer. This role involves supporting a 7-day ultrasound service, including weekends and bank holidays, within a dynamic team committed to patient care. The successful candidate will perform ultrasound examinations, prepare independent clinical reports, and provide expert advice to the multidisciplinary team. They will also be responsible for operational supervision, workflow management, and contributing to protocol development and quality assurance.
Essential criteria
- oRadiographer post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (e.g., MSc, DMU, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate). oUS Sonographer Qualification Qualifications should be CASE accredited by CASE (or considered deemed to be CASE equivalent to CASE standards.) oEnsure course learning outcomes are submitted: Provide detailed documentation of course content and learning outcomes to the Trust, enabling effective mapping against required clinical and professional competencies. This supports assurance of training quality and alignment with service needs and regulatory standards. oCurrent mandatory registration with HCPC or RCT

- oExpert knowledge of US procedures oAbility to manage a team oAbility to work autonomously as a sonographer
- oUnderstanding of other modalities oTeaching Skills oEvidence of on-going professional development
- oAdvanced knowledge of modifications in imaging technique whilst adhering to H&S legislation. oExcellent interpersonal skills including being able to communicate effectively across all disciplines oFlexible, responsive and enthusiastic approach in assisting with the delivery of the radiology service
- oEvaluation of performance, evidence reflective practice and self -develop oEvidence of leadership training
