Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated midwife to join the Antenatal Day Unit and Maternity Triage services. You will work autonomously to provide expert assessment, care planning, and interventions for women, both in person and via telephone. The position involves managing test results, supporting home blood pressure monitoring, and responding to routine and emergency situations. You will also contribute to team collaboration, patient experience, and the development of colleagues and students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, care planning and interventions for women attending triage.
- Manage test results and support home blood pressure monitoring programmes.
- Use clinical judgement to respond to routine and emergency situations.
- Build strong collaborative relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience.
- Support the development of colleagues and students through supervision, mentoring and teaching.
Essential criteria
- Degree / Diploma in Midwifery studies or equivalent
- Registered Midwife with current NMC registration
- Current experience in Midwifery Practice
- Team Working
- Evidence of acting as a mentor/preceptor
- Awareness of change management
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Time management
- Evidence of multidisciplinary working
- Demonstrate an awareness of research and audit
Desirable criteria
- Masters Degree

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated midwife to join our Antenatal Day Unit and Maternity Triage services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to women and families by delivering safe, responsive and high-quality care throughout pregnancy.
You will work autonomously within your scope of practice, providing expert assessment, care planning and interventions for women attending triage both in person and via telephone. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure women receive personalised, effective care when they need it most.
The role includes assessing care needs, developing and evaluating individualised care plans, monitoring outcomes, managing test results and supporting home blood pressure monitoring programmes. You will use your clinical judgement to respond confidently to both routine and emergency situations while maintaining the highest standards of care.
