Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Therapeutic Radiographer within the pre-treatment area of a large Radiotherapy department. You will be responsible for accurate planning of radiotherapy treatments and providing appropriate patient care. The position involves assisting and deputising for the Team Lead Therapeutic Radiographer. The department provides both local and regional services to adult and paediatric patients, utilising 5 Elekta linear accelerators and 2 dedicated CT scanners.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate planning of Radiotherapy treatments as prescribed, with appropriate care of the patient.
  • Assist the pre-treatment Team Lead Therapeutic Radiographers and deputise as necessary.
  • Use highly developed communication skills to support patients and carers in informed decision making.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety aspects required in the Mould Room, especially COSHH.
  • Accurately position and immobilise patients for treatment and ensure appropriate scans are taken.
  • Produce immobilisation and shielding devices for radiotherapy treatments in a timely and accurate manner.

Essential criteria

  • DCR (T) or BSc (Hons) State Registered Therapeutic Radiographer

Job summary

We welcome enthusiastic and committed Therapeutic Radiographers to apply for this position within our innovative and friendly working environment.We are a large Radiotherapy department within the south west providing both local and regional services to both adults and paediatric patients. We have 5 Elekta linear accelerators and within the pre-treatment area there are 2 dedicated CT scanners, Raystation and a mould room.

All staff are involved in the development of the service and we actively encourage continual professional development including opportunities for post graduate learning to develop skills to promote patient centered care.

As a senior Therapeutic Radiographer within pre-treatment you will have pre-treatment experience and be able to provide accurate planning of radiotherapy treatments with appropriate patient care. You will also be required to assist the Team Lead Therapeutic Radiographer in charge of the area and to deputise when necessary.
