Role summary
This role is for a Community Mental Health Nurse to work on a bank contract for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, with recruitment managed by Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for service users, mentor staff, and lead care for a specified group. The position involves working Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, at The Joseph Palmer Centre in West Molesey.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the clinical management of a care package to an individual who uses our services.
- Co-ordinate and monitor the delivery of person centered healthcare to a designated group of people who use our services, using complex clinical decision making where appropriate.
- Deliver individual and group therapy utilizing CBT skills.
- Work as a member of the MDT in assessing and planning care and responding to changes in people who use our services health.
- Ensure provision of therapeutic activities, emotional support and stability to clients to ensure effective engagement whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ensure prescribed physical observations are undertaken as follows: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, blood sugars, urinalysis, weight and height and act upon exceptions appropriately.
Essential criteria
- NMC Registration as RMN/RN (Mental Health)
- Successful completion of Mentorship course
- Further training or experience to post graduate diploma level or 5 years equivalent experience
- 2 year's experience post qualification
- Aware of personal and professional boundaries
- Clinical supervision training
