Job summary
The Patient Safety workstream sits within the Trust's Clinical Governance Team.
The team is required to set the strategic direction for patient safety. This includes delivering reactive and proactive aspects of patient safety improvement work including education and training, to enable and support front line staff to keep patients and staff safe.
The Deputy Patient Safety Manager will work with, and deputise for the Patient Safety Manager in delivering the Trust's patient safety portfolio. That includes patient safety incident management and the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), management and oversight of duty of candour, inquest management, and management of the Central Alerting System notifications.
They will support trust-wide patient safety learning events by working closely with clinical senior leadership teams, nominated safety experts, external stakeholders and agencies to deliver successful and engaging events that promote learning and improvement.
There will be a requirement to analyse patient safety data and produce reports at a high standard for Board and the Senior Executive Team.
Overall, the role will support the delivery of the Trust's evolving patient safety agenda and includes supporting the day to day activities of the Patient Safety Team.
