Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join a friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking pharmacy team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. The role focuses on providing a high-quality, safe, and effective ward-based Medicines Management service. You will be well-supported in your training and development, even if you don't have prior hospital pharmacy experience. The position is based at Warwick Hospital.
Essential criteria
- BTEC National certificate/NVQ level 3/City and Guilds or equivalent in Pharmacy Practice
- Accuracy Checking Technician Qualification or specialist equivalent for Medicines Management
- Able to demonstrate Continuing Professional Development to meet statutory requirements
- UK Professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician
- NVQ assessor award
- Post qualification experience relevant to the role
- Recent Hospital Pharmacy experience of a length and depth appropriate for the competencies that the post requires.
- Possesses Medicines Management competencies
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of JAC Pharmacy computer system
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Understanding of ward processes
- Supervisory skills
- Ability to frequently concentrate whilst dealing with arising queries
- Accurate dispensing skills
- Accurate checking skills
- Enthusiastic
- Motivated
- Reliable
- Team worker
- Professional level of personal presentation
- Flexible
- Able to use initiative
- Able to create a rapport
- Knows and respects their limits of discretion (i.e. when to hand over)
- Able to deal with angry/upset/ill patients

- Able to work flexibly and participate in late duties and Saturday/Sunday/Bank holiday working
