Role summary
This is a fixed-term, part-time Band 3 Clinical Support Worker role at Brampton Community Hospital, working 24 hours per week. The position involves supporting patients with complex needs in a community ward setting, focusing on high-quality care, promoting independence, and facilitating hospital discharge. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking delegated nursing and care duties, including clinical observations and personal hygiene support. The role requires working flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Support the provision of high quality care to patients with complex needs within the community ward setting.
- Work with other health and social care professionals to develop multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services.
- Undertake a range of delegated patient nursing and care duties, including clinical observations and recording patient information.
- Support patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
- Work without direct supervision, assessing patients, implementing care, and providing advice and education.
- Carry out nursing procedures and maintain associated patient records.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3
- Theoretical knowledge
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- Clinical observations
- Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2

- Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers

- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings
- Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Clinical Support worker to work at Brampton Community Hospital. This is a Fixed Term, Part-time position.
Brampton ward aims to address the challenges of an aging population and increasing demand on health and care services by providing more patient centred hospital care and empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing. This will require new ways of working to focus on preventing ill health and ensure services are sustainable for the future.
This role requires you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to support the provision of high quality care, to support patients with complex needs within the community ward setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their clinical skills and expertise in caring for patients, working closely with health and social care colleagues to promote independence, facilitate hospital discharge which can be complex and promote independence through reablement and management of long-term conditions.
