Key responsibilities
- Accurately dispense in-patient, discharge, and out-patient prescriptions, including label generation.
- Answer telephones promptly and politely, dealing with queries and relaying accurate information.
- Dispense controlled drugs and receive out-patient prescriptions in the dispensary.
- Accurately input data into the pharmacy JAC computer systems for all relevant duties.
- Perform general housekeeping duties within the dispensaries, including cleaning equipment and ensuring sufficient sundry items.
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above)
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy (mandatory units)
- Experience of working in a pharmacy
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer service experience

- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy (Dispensing Unit)
- Hospital Pharmacy Experience

Job summary
We have a vacancy for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to work in our busy and friendly department.
This position is based in Winchester, however there is occasionally a requirement to work across sites.
We are looking for you to accurately dispense in-patient, discharge, and out-patient prescriptions, supporting patient flow in a fast-paced environment.
Prioritisation skills are valued and personal development is encouraged and supported.
You will need to possess an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent), and all applicants must have excellent communication skills, be flexible and be able to work accurately under pressure.
A good level of English and Maths (GCSE level or equivalent) and computer skills are essential. Physical fitness is required as there is some manual handling involved.
