Role summary
This role involves delivering high-quality clinical assessments, formulation, care planning, and evidence-based interventions for children and young people up to age 18 with emotional, behavioural, neurodevelopmental, and mental health needs. You will manage an allocated caseload within structured CYPMHS pathways, combining autonomous clinical practice with multi-agency working. The position requires active participation in MDT meetings, clinical reviews, and service development, while maintaining accurate clinical records and supporting junior colleagues. Regular clinical supervision is provided.
Essential criteria
- Successful completion of graduate training such as nursing, social work or occupational therapy, or equivalent substantial KMMH/CYPMHS clinical experience.
- Active registration with your relevant regulatory body (e.g., HCPC, NMC)
Desirable criteria
- Additional post-qualification training relevant to children and young people's mental health, risk assessment, neurodevelopmental needs, trauma informed practice or evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties, including complex, challenging or high-risk presentations.
- Experience of carrying out assessment and delivering clinical interventions within a multi-disciplinary setting, including work with parents/carers, schools and partner agencies.
- Experience of CYP-IAPT informed practice, school-based assessment, community based assessment, group work, parent/carer interventions, or supervising junior staff / mental health workers.
- Knowledge and Skills

- Knowledge of risk management and ability to monitor, assess and respond to risk to ensure safety.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and young people, safeguarding procedures and policies.

Job summary
Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or qualified CYP-IAPT practitioner to join our Canterbury CYPMHS team as a Multidisciplinary Pathway Worker.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality clinical assessments, formulation, care planning, and evidence-based interventions for children and young people up to age 18 who present with emotional, behavioural, neurodevelopmental, and mental health needs.
