Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Community Rehabilitation Service. You will assess patients within an LCC lead short-term bed setting as part of intermediate care, supporting their integration back into the community. The position involves working with patients living with Dementia/cognitive difficulties and offers supervision and training in this complex area. You will deliver excellent Occupational Therapy care with a holistic approach to recuperative and rehabilitative care.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients within an LCC lead short-term bed setting as part of intermediate care.
- Support patient integration back into the community following deterioration in health or functional ability.
- Deliver excellent Occupational Therapy care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Take part in activities that encourage continued professional development.
- Apply a holistic approach to recuperative and rehabilitative care for individuals with complex needs.
Essential criteria
- HCPC Registration
- Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of CPD in relevant areas
- Experience and ability to work effectively within an MDT
- Evidence of clinical topic training / staff presentations
- Evidence of supervision of assistant staff / students
- Treatment of a broad range of conditions
- Demonstrable evidence of improving and developing service /practice
- Evidence of leading and implementing clinical change
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Skills for assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of conditions
- Ability to prioritise a workload effectively
