Role summary
Join Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust as a Community Podiatrist to improve foot health and enhance patient quality of life. You will assess and provide planned podiatric care packages to patients, maintaining their independence and mobility. This role involves working autonomously in various community settings, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care alongside a multi-disciplinary team. It's an opportunity for both newly registered and experienced Podiatrists to develop skills in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver podiatry in clinical, domiciliary, and residential home settings as an autonomous practitioner.
- Assess and treat existing patients according to departmental protocols, developing treatment plans and providing foot health advice.
- Employ stringent control of cross infection and decontamination measures.
- Assess for and undertake nail surgery, including administration of local analgesia.
- Assess for orthotics, make chair-side devices, and prescribe bespoke orthotics.
- Provide health education advice and delegate appropriate patients to podiatry assistants.
