Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team supporting the day-to-day operational function of the Medicine & Emergency Care Team. The role involves full line management responsibility for operational areas across various staff groups and specialities. The post holder will also contribute to duty management of designated sites both in and out of hours. Key responsibilities include budget management, leadership, and contributing to directorate strategy and objective setting.
Key responsibilities
- To effectively support the management of the pay and non pay budgets of delegated areas.
- Full line management responsibility for operational areas across a range of staffgroups/disciplines and specialties.
- To ensure effective leadership, management, co-ordination and control of a defined area within the directorate at an operational level.
- To provide leadership support in the development of clinical and support services.
- To actively support the OSM/senior manager in and contribute to the development of Directorate strategy and objective setting.
- To contribute to the on-call rota at weekends and on bank holidays.
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification to degree level or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience of meeting performance targets
- Experience of managing a service or department and staff
- Knowledge and experience of effective change management strategies
- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role
Desirable criteria
- Management qualification
- Masters degrees or equivalent level of post grad qualification
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
