Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering Estates Manager with an electrical background to join the Estates Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Based at Leeds General Infirmary, the role involves managing the Trust's extensive estate, ensuring the integrity of Mechanical and Electrical systems, and providing specialist technical advice. Key responsibilities
- Manage and operate the Trust's estate, ensuring the integrity of Mechanical and Electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Provide specialist technical advice for day-to-day management of buildings, including breakdowns, planned preventative maintenance, and minor works projects.
- Supervise and manage the in-house multi-skilled Estates maintenance team and coordinate specialist contractors.
- Ensure the site has compliant value-for-money service contracts for all specialist maintenance services, collaborating with Trust Procurement.
- Act as an Authorised Person for High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), and Medical Gas systems, with oversight of other Authorised Person duties.
- Participate in an on-call service to provide out-of-hours advice and attendance on site as required.

Main duties of the job
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Estates Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, as an engineering Estates Manager (Operations) based at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) site. This is a key role in the management and the operation of the Trusts estate which, at over 500,000 sq. meters, is one of the largest and most complex in the country.
The Estates Manager shall have an electrical background and possess good computer and IT skills.
