Role summary
This role involves being part of a team responsible for delivering comprehensive maintenance and installation services across the Trust's estates. The post-holder will provide leadership to the operational mechanical engineering team, develop standardised practices, and support modern maintenance services. They will also offer specialist advice and support on mechanical plant within the Trust.
Essential criteria
- Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
- A degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Recognised Appointed Person training/ Appointment
- Broad range of engineering experience in a building services environment in a large estate.
- Previous experience of Risk Management, from surveys, assessments, and action plans through to implementation of control measures.

- Significant experience in NHS engineering operations to include, Medical Gasses - HVAC systems - Water systems - Fire systems - Lifting Gear - Pressure systems - Steam raising plant

Job summary
You will be part of the team who are responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance and installation service across the Trust's estates, which will be responsive, efficient, financially effective and to a high standard.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Mechanical Estates Operations Manager the post-holder is responsible for providing leadership to the operational mechanical engineering team, the development of standardised practices and processes within their area of responsibility (trade group) and to support the delivery of modern maintenance services meeting compliant standards within a customer care focused environment
The post-holder will provide specialist leadership, advice and support on mechanical plant within the Trust
