Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at Furness General Hospital. The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services across various wards, ensuring safe and effective medicine use. They will also support, train, and supervise newly qualified and trainee pharmacists. The department uses electronic prescribing and a fully electronic patient record system.
Essential criteria
- Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or working towards)
- Experience of liaising with other healthcare professionals e.g. consultants, GPs
- Acute hospital experience post registration
- Experience of working on projects
- Experience working with paediatrics
- Skills, ability and knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good verbal communication and counselling skills with ill patients and relatives
- Clinical knowledge of current therapeutics and practice
- Organisation and prioritisation of clinical work
- Accuracy
