Role summary
This is a permanent, part-time Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist role within the York Children's Therapy Team, focusing on children and young people aged 0-18 with neurodevelopmental conditions. You will provide assessment, treatment, and diagnosis support, managing a diverse caseload across various settings including hospitals, community, and schools. The role involves working autonomously, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to service improvement. It offers strong support for professional development within a friendly and innovative team.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Specialist Physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and diagnosis support for patients within Children's Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload of patients with complex physical, psychological & cognitive problems.
- Deliver evidence-based or best practice physiotherapy care relevant to the Paediatric field.
- Collaborate with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary team in patient management.
- Provide support, leadership, specialist advice, training, supervision, and mentorship to less experienced staff, students, and apprentices.
- Participate in regular clinical and managerial supervision, and undertake education and training for self and others.
- Contribute to audit and service improvement to evaluate and improve clinical practice.
Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
- Evidence of post graduate training within specialist area [Paediatric Physiotherapy]
- Experience in a relevant role, including the management of a range of conditions, with evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal training and supervision.
- Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations.
- Delivery of relevant audit/research projects
- Able to present information, written and verbally in a clear and logical manner.
- Able to work as an effective member of multidisciplinary team
- Able to demonstrate appropriate engagement with others and understanding of the impact of good and poor communication.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post graduate qualification or accreditation within specialist area Paediatric Physiotherapy
- Practice placement supervisor qualification.
- Health Coaching
- Experience of working in a client-driven/NHS environment
- Experience in the use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment.
- Experience of training/supporting others (including students)
