Role summary

This is an exciting 12-month secondment opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the 16-bedded Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) at Scarborough Hospital. The role offers a fantastic development opportunity to expand acute care skills in a high-acuity environment, supporting patients requiring closer monitoring and complex nursing interventions. You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, contributing to patient safety and recovery.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking timely and accurate clinical assessments, observations, and interventions.
  • Escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to early recognition of deterioration.
  • Working collaboratively with the MDT, including Critical Care Outreach, medical teams, and allied health professionals.
  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive learning environment.
  • Maintaining excellent documentation and ensuring safe, effective handovers.
  • Upholding Trust values and promoting a culture of safety, dignity, and continuous improvement.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse (level 1 or 2)
  • Willing to undergo training as necessary
  • Ability to demonstrate and explain skills to other staff

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our 16-bedded Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) on a 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave.

This is a fantastic development opportunity for nurses looking to expand their acute care skills. You will gain experience in a high-acuity environment and contribute to a service that plays a vital role in patient safety and recovery.
