Role summary

This role involves providing comprehensive administrative and IT support to the Postgraduate Education Centre within Cancer Services. The post holder will support the delivery of high-quality education and training for multidisciplinary staff groups. Key duties include coordinating study days, maintaining records, supporting online learning, and assisting with work experience placements. The role is part-time, with a flexible two-week working pattern.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to a minimum GCSE level or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of education in mathematics and English

Desirable criteria

  • European Computer Driving License
  • Previous Experience
  • General office experience, preferably in a training/learning environment
  • Evidence of creating and maintain databases and other forms of accurate reports
  • Handling telephone queries
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to confidently set up, manage, and troubleshoot systems and digital processes, for example Microsoft packages, AI digital assistants, Canva, Mentimeter, Survey Monkey
  • Demonstrates strong IT proficiency and confidence in implementing and maintaining systems.
  • Good management and prioritisation or workload skills
  • Processes and support effective digital working practices.
  • Able to take own initiative and identify methods to improve administrative processes
  • Experience of working in the NHS and understanding of NHS systems
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion

Cancer Education Team Administrator

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Cancer Education Team Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and Information Technology support to the Postgraduate Education Centre, supporting the delivery of high-quality education and training to multidisciplinary staff groups across Cancer Services.

Working as part of the Cancer Education Team, the post holder will support senior staff and training teams with a range of administrative and coordination duties relating to education, workforce development and staff training processes.

Key responsibilities include coordinating study days, induction programmes and training events; maintaining accurate records and databases; supporting online learning platforms; working with Human Resources to support identification and pre-employment checks, look after all work experience placement for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, ensuring effective communication across the department.

The post will be worked on a part-time basis, with a two-week working pattern of 3 days one week and 2 days the following week. There will be some flexibility to adjust working days to meet service
