Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join the Haematology team. The ACP will work autonomously, undertaking clinical assessments for haematology patients, ordering investigations, and initiating treatments. They will also lead, develop, implement, and evaluate elective assessment services, providing leadership and clinical support to nursing staff.
Key responsibilities
- Work autonomously as a practitioner, undertaking clinical assessments for acute, emergency, and elective haematology patients.
- Order and carry out investigations and initiate treatments within defined competence and protocols.
- Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate the delivery of elective assessment services.
- Provide leadership and clinical support to nurses working in the service.
Essential criteria
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) Registered Nurse with Valid NMC registration or Health Care Professional and registered with HCPC with relevant clinical experience
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) A full master's in advanced clinical Practice which may be via the apprenticeship route
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) Advanced Physical Assessment module and Non-Medical Prescribing.
- (Band 7) Advanced life support qualification ALS or willingness to undertake
- (Band7 & Band 8a) Advanced Physical Assessment module and Non-Medical Prescribing.
- (Band 8a) MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or NHSE Centre for Advancing Practice Advanced Practice Digital Badge
- (Band 8a) Advanced life support qualification ALS
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) Evidence of relevant continuous professional development
- (Band 8a) Recognised Leadership Award/qualification or equivalent experience
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) Significant relevant experience as a qualified ACP
- (Band 8a) Must be able to evidence and demonstrate experience of ability to act as an independent, senior decision maker in a clinical team using published specialist curricula where available

- (Band 7 & Band 8a) High standard of written and verbal communication - able to present and receive complex information and communicate effectively with all grades of staff and patients / families
- (Band 8a) Effective leadership, negotiation, and reasoning skills with the ability to influence, coach and motivate others
- (Band 7 & Band 8a) Can prioritise and manage own workload and support junior personnel in managing theirs when faced with conflicting pressures

Main duties of the job
