Role summary
This is a part-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist role within the Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation Trust Therapy Hub. The post involves working in a community-based multi-disciplinary team to maximise the independence and autonomy of people. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, caseload management, and contributing to falls awareness initiatives. The role aims to prevent inappropriate hospital admissions and facilitate hospital discharge.
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- Current Health and Care Professionals Council registration.
- Extensive evidence of relevant post registration training and CPD
- Experience of working in a Multi-Disciplinary team.
- Relevant rehabilitation experience for a variety of people in a community setting.
- Experience of working with other agencies.
- Ability to plan and delegate daily workload.
- Ability to demonstrate and share knowledge and application of up to date evidence based clinical trends and practices within the filed of occupational therapy.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 6 OT to join the Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation Trust Therapy Hub. The Therapy Hub is a community based team comprising occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation technicians, rehabilitation assistants and administrative support. The post is 22.5 hours per week.
As part of the Therapy Hub, you will be responsible for maximising the independence and autonomy of people, ensuring that interventions are provided fairly and in a manner that is sensitive to individual needs. You will have good assessment and treatment planning skills, an ability to prioritise workload and enjoy a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation approach. You will work in partnership with the Early Intervention Community Team to assist in the prevention of inappropriate hospital admissions and the facilitation of hospital discharge in line with the overall objectives of the service.
