Role summary
This is an Annex Band 6 Specialist Nurse position within the Blood Borne Virus (BBV) team, working across sexual health and Hepatitis C services. The role involves training to become competent in managing patients with HIV and viral hepatitis, supporting the BBV and Hepatitis C teams. The post holder will work under supervision, developing clinical expertise and delivering high standards of care, including outreach services and patient pathway support.

- Post-basic specialist Qualification relevant to speciality
- Evidence of continued professional development

Job summary
This post is Annex band 6 post
The successful candidate will work within the Blood borne Virus team working across sexual health and Hepatitis C team.
The post will involve training to become competent in the management of patients with HIV and viral hepatitis. Training and assessment will be undertaken.
The post holder will support the BBV team and also the Hepatitis C team. The role will be fully supported and supervised by established clinical nurse specialists/practitioners, the Nurse Consultant and Medical staff.
Main duties of the job
Under supervision, support and manage a cohort of patients with blood borne viruses, within set protocols.Develop and maintain clinical expertise and deliver the highest standards of care to meet the needs of the patients, their carers' and significant others.Work in the out-reach services which may include prison health
Working across Cheshire and Merseyside HCV Operational Delivery Network the role will involve identifying and supporting patients through their treatment pathways.
The post will involve training to become competent in the management of patients with blood borne viruses and Liver Disease. Training and assessment will be undertaken.
