Role summary
This is a senior leadership role for an experienced and motivated nurse to lead specialist Ophthalmology services. The successful candidate will be a Band 7 Sister, primarily based at Rotherham Community Health Centre, responsible for coordinating outpatient Ophthalmology services. The role involves ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with various eye conditions, including emergency eye care and paediatrics. - Degree and / or an appropriate professional qualification
- Assessing and mentoring course

- Relevant managerial course
- Extensive experience as a band 6 within an appropriate speciality.
- Experience of taking charge of a department.
- Experience of leading and managing a team of nurses.
- Previous experience of research and audit.
- Previous experience of change management and problem solving.
- Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints.
- Extensive speciality knowledge relevant to the department
- Understanding of professional and current issues in Ophthalmology and outpatient nursing.
- Understanding of audit and research Methodologies
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues
- Handling clinical incidents and complaints
- Awareness of equality and diversity
- Clinical Governance
- Good knowledge of computers
- Experience of co-ordinating multiple complex projects
- Expertise in project management, creation of project proposals and business case development.
