Role summary
This role involves providing comprehensive Tier 3/4 substance use services, bridging the gap between substance misuse and mental health. The coordinator will manage a caseload, offering interventions and supporting service users through their treatment journey. Key responsibilities
- Provide drug & alcohol treatment to Service Users within the locality.
- Hold a caseload of service users and be responsible for offering a range of interventions.
- Support service users through their treatment journey from beginning to end.
- Ensure work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
- Keep up to date and accurate records and documentation.
- Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and other blood borne infections.
Essential criteria
- Foundation Degree / HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, human resources, social studies or equivalent experience
- Considerable experience of working with drug users
- Experience of working with techniques such as CBT, Motivational interviewing, and Solution focused therapy
- A commitment to and understanding of harm reduction & recovery approaches to working with drug users.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
- Ability to work with drug/alcohol users in a community environment

Recognising that for our cohort of service user co-occurring needs are the norm not the exception. Through this project we aim to reduce barriers to access treatment, duplication, and fragmentation.
