Role summary
This role is for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse who will work under the ward manager, taking responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The post holder will regularly take charge of the unit, acting as a clinical leader and supporting the professional development of staff. They will provide high-standard, evidence-based nursing care to children and young people, adhering to clinical practice guidelines and managing life-threatening emergencies.

- RSCN / RN Child
- Teaching and Assessing course or Working towards

- Skills and abilities
- Basic IT skills
- Cannulation/phlebotomy skills - or willingness to undertaking training
- Experience of teaching
- Experience of managing a team
- .Experience or risk management / clinical governance / policy and procedure development
- Skills and abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team.
- Ability to produce high standards of documentation.
- Ability to negotiate and advocate for children and their families
- Central Venous Access Device competencies or willingness to achieve competencies

Job summary
