Job summary

Dulwich Satellite Unit is located at Tessa Jowell Health Centre. Our unit comprises of diverse team and promotes personal and professional development. You will be involved in assisting the unit manager to drive forward quality patient centred compassionate care as well as assisting and supporting the team to attain efficiency and sustain standards. This is an ideal opportunity for a band 5 nurse to utilise and enhance their mentoring skills, leadership qualities, time management, and independent working.

You will have 2 weeks supernumery and the opportunity to work alongside senior nurses and practice development nurses. You will have your Assessor and Supervisor assigned to you.

As a band 5 staff nurse, you are expected to understand the principle of haemodialysis including connecting and disconnecting patients on haemodialysis. You are required to commence patients on haemodialysis and discontinue treatment in a safely manner as well as lining and priming of haemodialysis machines, troubleshooting complications, data input, stripping the machines. You will also have the opportunity to learn, assessment of fistulas including cannulations.
