Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Dietitian to join an established team working in Critical Care Units at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. The role involves providing dietetic input to a varied caseload within Critical Care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The department supports student training and continuous professional development. Nutritional support and acute NHS ward experience are essential.
Essential criteria
- oDegree in Nutrition and Dietetics oHCPC registration oClinical supervisory skills student training course oDocumented evidence of continuous professional Development oEvidence of recent post graduate training relevant to this post or in a specialist area
Desirable criteria
- oBDA member oMember of relevant BDA specialist interest group
- oSolid experience gained within the NHS as a registered dietitian starting to manage more complex situations oCan demonstrate experience of good caseload management and organisational skills oExperience of leading on group and individual dietetic sessions including preparation, delivery and evaluation oExperience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team oExperience in clinical supervision of student dietitians oCan give examples of involvement in quality initiatives, audit and / or service improvement work
- oUp to date dietetic knowledge acquired through degree qualification and continuous professional development oUnderstanding of national strategy, policy and guidance and how they can be applied in planning of services oAware of the format of pre-registration placement for dietitians oAware of the different communication needs within a culturally diverse community and how this may impact on professional practice
- oPost registration training in behavioural change and motivational interviewing
- oAble to communicate with clients using enhanced dietary counselling, motivational and negotiation sills oAble to anaylse complex information and make judgements on dietetic issues oAble to adapt written and oral communication style to meet the needs of various audiences including people from a variety of backgrounds and communication needs without risk of misunderstanding oKeyboard and IT skills to support clinical practice oFlexible approach and willingness to adapt to change

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity, for a Specialist Dietitian to join an established specialist team of Dietitians working in the Critical Care Units within University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
Nutritional support (including enteral feeding) and acute NHS ward experience are essential for this role, and dietetic experience in critical care is desirable but not essential.
You will be working within our large, friendly dynamic Dietetic department. The trust uses electronic patient record keeping and has excellent library facilities. The department also supports return to practice, and flexible working.
_Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP._
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be based at the UHCW hospital in Coventry.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic & experienced Dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills, to work as an integral member of these teams.
The role will involve MDT working in order to provide Dietetic input to a varied caseload within the Critical Care Units.
The whole department is actively involved in student training and committed to CPD. As a member of the dietetic team you will take an active part in the provision of training programs for A, B and C Dietetic s
