Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated and passionate Midwife with an interest in clinical research to join a dynamic research team at University College London Hospital. The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of the Flip2 trial, a randomised controlled trial exploring the reduction of preterm birth risk. Full training will be provided, and candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand and implement complex academic protocols, possess strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills. The contract is for 12 months.
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife with evidence of continuing professional development.
- First degree
- Evidence of ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) qualification or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of the role of a Research Midwife
- Knowledge of Clinical Research Governance
- Understanding of professional and current issues in midwifery and gynaecology, and in clinical research
- Knowledge of current women's health studies running within UCLH
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice
- Evidence of working as Midwife within a women's health clinical area
- 2 years post registration
- Demonstrate clinical ability to provide high quality patient care
- Exposure to research delivery within their clinical setting.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Proven ability to work under own initiative and manage own workload.
- High level of administrative skills & computer literacy to include use of Microsoft Office suit.
- Curiosity & detail orientated with a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstratable problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication
- Demonstrate ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with advanced written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer literacy including experience of Microsoft programmes including Word, Excel and Teams
- Personal and People Development
- Awareness of responsibility to develop and sustain own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness in accordance with NMC requirements

Job summary
